What is being proactive? Being proactive is taking initiative in your life to do things and taking responsibility for your actions. Proactivity is important because it lets people know what they are doing with their lives and the outcomes of said doings. Proactive people live better lives, they understand what they are doing and they enjoy it. Proactivity gives you control of your life, letting you do and experience more.
Proactivity is very big on self-management, as it is one of the top things that let you control your life. Taking responsibility frees you from guilt and fear of what one will think of you after. When people notice issues with themselves or others, they often put them off, labeling them as unimportant or telling themselves they will deal with them later, but we all know they do not. When one is proactive they take initiative to deal with the problem they are having right when it happens or when they can. Self management helps you be less overwhelmed in life with all of your plans.
Risk taking is not something that is foreign to proactive people. Risk taking is important to be proactive, as it allows one to take initiative, regardless of the consequences they may face, only doing what is right because it is right. That is not without saying that you should just never care about how you make people feel, as that is also something that proactive people maintain. Risks by themselves can sometimes be dangerous to take, but when in hand with the others, risk taking is an incredibly powerful trait.
Another large part of being proactive is inquiring. When one is not afraid to ask questions, they learn more. Inquiring is not only about learning, as asking questions doesn't just teach, in fear of bothering, someone may never ask questions about things that are unclear to them, but an inquirer would ask either way to make sure that they understand. Inquirers understand what could happen if they do not know what they are doing and how to do it, and so do proactive people, as inquiring is necessary to truly be proactive.
Being proactive is all about having a balance in your life, a balance of everything: relationships, feelings, schedules, ect. Self-Management, Inquiring, & Risk-Taking are all parts of being proactive. Proactivity is a mix of traits, giving you complete control of you life and actions, leading you to live a happier, easier, better life. All of the traits by themselves require the others to properly function. You can not manage yourself if you don't understand what people want you to do and what you are told(Inquiring). You can not ask questions on things you don't properly understand if you don't take the risks needed to ask questions. You can't take risks if you don't know how to properly manage yourself when taking those risks. All of the traits are connected, and the web of connections is called being proactive.
